  General Notes:

"Mrs. Mabel Scott Loeven adds some biographical data about the five daughters of William Alan Scott and Rose Plaisted: Four of the Scott sisters, Mabel, Eva L., Mary Gertrude and Reba Rachel taught school in various departments: Commercial Education, French, Physical Education and Kindergarten in that order. They have traveled extensively in Europe and in the Americas.
"Mabel, Reba, and Eva all attended Columbia University in New York City, where Eva earned a Masters Degree in French. Gertrude recieved her Physical Education training at the old Posse Normal in Boston which is no longer in existence.
"Mildred was not interested in teaching but leaned toward business. She trained in Rochester, N.Y., passed the Civil Service examination and was in Government Service in Washington, D.C. for thirty years.
"Now we are retired and able to indulge in our hobbies. Mabel's hobby is writing to United States Senators and Congressmen abotu the problems of our times. She is also in the Women's Association Board of her church in Englewood. Eva occupies her time making something special in clothes for the family. Reba has become a very good amateur painter through the Senior Citizens painting classes in her community. Mildred takes trips in and around Washington, which has so many beautiful places to see.
"Mildred's daughter, Patricia, is married to Edward T. Kornhauser, a science professor at Brown University in Rhode Island. They live in one of the suburbs in Providence. Edward has had two sabbatical leaves both of which they spent in England, one at the University of Bristol and the other at Oxford University." (from Aber Family Quarterly, Autumn, 1974)
